The Mama's & The Papa's fue un cuarteto neoyorkino de los 60, que surge de la unión de los grupos Journeymen y The Mugwumps.
En 1964 John, Michelle, Dennis y Cass, se trasladan a Los Ángeles donde debutan con su primer sencillo. California Dreamin se convierte en su tarjeta de presentación, precediendo al que sería el primer gran éxito del grupo.
Y aquí es cuando llega Monday Monday, escrita en 1966 por John Phillips, para el álbum If you can believe your eyes, que se ha convertido en esa canción que después del domingo salta como un resorte en nuestro tararero de principio de semana.
