Manchester fue la ciudad y 1984 el año que vio nacer a Simply Red, la banda liderada por Mick 'Red' Hucknall hasta 2010, momento en el que se despidieron de los escenarios. Claro que sólo se despidieron ellos, no así su música que ahí está para que la disfrutemos a placer.
Son un exponente del pop británico con tintes rock, soul, rythm&blues... ¿quién no recuerda la melena pelirroja de Mick interpretando Stars? ese es uno de sus temas de cabecera pero hubo más, entre ellos algunas versiones de clásicos como éste If you don't know me by now publicado en 1989 dentro del álbum A new flame.
Se trata de una versión que no sólo no desmerece a la original sino que la hace, si cabe, más grande; para disfrutar, a ser posible, en compañía.
