Lauren Henson, más conocida por su nombre artístico de Indiana (llamada así por el aventurero arqueólogo) nació en Inglaterra, en 1987, y su estrella empezó a brillar muy poco después de iniciar su carrera. En algo menos de un año desde que dio su primer concierto, ya estaba actuando en Radio 1 de la BBC para su majestad la reina de Inglaterra. Eso es empezar con buen pie, al menos un pie bastante mediático.
Fue descubierta por el compositor nominado a los premios Grammy, John Beck, pero para entonces su primer single ya tenía más de un millón de visitas en YouTube. Esa inquietante mezcla entre lo urbano y lo atmosférico, entre el pop contagioso y los sintetizadores ligeramente siniestros, oscuros, entre la ligereza británica y la carga opresiva escandinava, la auparon al estrellato sin tener ni siquiera un Lp con el que avalar su propuesta.
Es lista y sabe aprovechar la ola. Ha sido capaz de tocar en el escenario del festival más mediático, Glastonbury, y ha creado su propia marca de ropa, diseñada por ella misma y basada en la naturaleza. Y su música, a la que ella describe como “electrónica amenazante y emocional, con sintetizadores inspirados en los 80 y con una voz inolvidable”, se cotiza. Afirma que sus mayores influencias son The XX, Gary Newman, Frank Ocean o Portishead.
El uno de septiembre la multinacional Sony pondrá en el mercado su álbum de debut, un disco que se titulara “No Romeo” y que incluye cuatro de los cinco singles que ha ido sacando hasta el momento. Trece canciones compuestas principalmente por ella misma y su productor, John Beck.
El actor Charlie Bewley, a quien pudimos ver en “Como Locos”, “La Saga Crepúsculo: Amanecer – Partes 1 y 2” o en la serie “Nashville”, es el protagonista del videoclip de la canción “Heart On Fire”, dirigido por Tim Mattia, quien también ha trabajado con Parade Of Lights, The 1975's, Young Guns o You Me At Six. En el clip, Charlie es un chico malo que le da algún que otro problemilla sentimental a la cantante. Una canción a caballo entre la electrónica y el synth pop, con todas las papeletas para llegar al top de las listas.
