Agnetha, Björn, Benny, Anni-Frid, son cuatro suecos que hicieron bailar a medio mundo con canciones como este Dancing Queen; tema que estrenaron en vivo y en directo ante la que sería, a partir del día siguiente, la mismísima reina de Suecia en 1976.
Conquistaron el mundo en los 70, siendo la banda con más ventas y los primeros capaces de materializar este éxito en países de tradición, cultura y habla inglesa fuera de Europa - Australia, Nueva Zelanda, Canadá y, en menor medida, Estados Unidos -. Vivieron cierto declive profesional de la mano de los malos momentos personales y, quizá pensando que una retirada a tiempo es una victoria, se disolvieron en 1982. Pero a partir de los 90, con la fiebre de los musicales, lo vintage y los recopilatorios, sus temas volvieron a sonar y los consideramos hoy como clásicos del S.XX, también por lo inconfundible de sus melodías y su sonido en el que ha tenido mucho que ver Phil Spector y su wall of sound, una técnica que el productor americano definía como 'un enfoque de Wagner para el rock & roll: pequeñas sinfonías para los niños' y que consistía en añadir arreglos instrumentales tocados por gran cantidad de músicos a una base melódica de guitarras provocando un efecto casi de orquesta.
Dancing Queen es, sin duda, uno de los temas más emblemáticos de ABBA, incluido en películas, versionado por diferentes artistas pero siempre sonando la inconfundible versión disco y original de Agnetha, Björn, Benny, Anni-Frid.
