Este canadiense de Hamilton (Ontario) es un tipo que no se arredra ante nada. Tras militar con su nombre, Jeremy Binns, en una banda llamada The Obvious, empezó a su carrera musical con innegable arrojo. Para promocionar su debut discográfico, “Back Porch Spirituals” (2001), se pasó seis meses de gira, atravesando Canadá en bicicleta, desde Seattle hasta Halifax, en Nueva Escocia; más de 7.500 kilómetros y más de 30 conciertos. La gira la llamó “One Less Tourbus”, lo que vendría a ser “algo menos que un tour en autobús”.
Con su segundo disco, “Let it Shine”, grabado con la multinacional Sony, obtuvo cierta repercusión y su nombre empezó a sonar como uno de los músicos canadienses emergentes con más proyección. Jeremy, que ya tiene cinco Lp´s en estudio, presenta ahora su nuevo trabajo, el sexto de su carrera, un álbum grabado en directo que recoge lo que Fisher hace noche tras noche sobre un escenario. Una muestra de su espontaneidad y de su luminosa sencillez, algo que ha querido plasmar con una grabación sin adornos y repleta de libertad y autenticidad.
El resultado final es algo vivo y palpitante, como la música de este cantante intemporal, Jeremy Fisher, cuyos compositores más admirados son Bob Dylan (¡cómo no!), John Prine, Todd Snider, John Mayer, Randy Newman y, en general, aquellos que son capaces de hacerte sonreír o de romperte el corazón en una misma canción.
