Bastaron 5 años mal contados -a finales de los 50 y principios de los 60- para convertir a The Everly Brothers en una de las más importantes influencias del rock&roll.
Claro que fueron unos años llenos de buen sonido country y rockabilly, componiendo temas que han pasado a la historia como grandes clásicos y que han sido además incluidas entre las mejores canciones de todos los tiempos.
Cathy's clown es uno de esos temas imperdibles de los dos hermanos y su buen hacer con guitarra y voz; fue número uno tanto en las listas británicas como americanas y fue también su último número uno.
